In 1988, one of our founders, Segopodiso Kimwaga decided to leave her job as a headmaster secretary at the only high school in Palapye Village. In pursuit of starting her entrepreneurship journey having been raised by parents who turned their farming passion into stores that sold produce for the local non-commercial farmers, Segopodiso decided to join forces with her husband, Mr Hamisi Kimwaga to establish Modern Auto Motors (MAM).

MAM Group traces its roots back to humble beginnings as an auto spares Company, hence the name Modern Auto Motors (MAM). The founders, driven by a passion for serving the local community, laid the foundation for what would become a thriving enterprise. Over the years, the auto spare shop evolved into a car tyre shop before the addition of a fuel filling station which was the second of its kind in the whole of Botswana.

The MAM Group has since then evolved into a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries, each dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers and communities. From automotive services to energy solutions, commercial properties, food, retail, and now bulk energy supplies, our journey has been one of continual growth and innovation. Today, we proudly carry forward the legacy of our founders, committed to transforming industries, empowering our team, and making a positive impact on the world around us.
